Due to the amazing attendance at our most recent Family computing workshop, over 1/3 of middle school families will now have a L@TCH computer in their home!
SBCS has once again teamed up with the Let's All Take Computers Home (L@TCH) Program with the goal of having every middle school family connected to the school. For a small fee of $40 and mandatory attendance at the L@TCH Family Computing Workshop, families get to take home a refurbished Pentium 4 computer with over 25 pieces of educational software, and a printer (Parents do need to supply their own internet). Parents will participate in various surveys throughout the year and share their experiences with interested families.
By having a computer at home, both parents and students can prepare themselves to succeed in high school, college, and the workforce. They also will be able to avoid the long lines at libraries or have to rely on somebody else's computer to type that school report or do some research for their classes.
This is SBCS's 4th year of working with L@TCH and we have distributed over 80 computers to eager families with that number growing as our outreach expands to this website.
