Emmanuel Bonabe (Mr. Bonabe)
Mr. Emmanuel Bonabe a passionate middle school math teacher with over seven years professional experience in education. Mr. Bonabe is a native of Tignere, Cameroon in Central Africa. He graduated from the University of Ngaoundere, in Cameroon, with a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Sciences. Before coming to the United States, Mr. Bonabe worked as a high school math and science teacher and as community health educator in Cameroon. During his work as a community health educator, he met his wife Sabrina Hervey, who was serving as Peace Corps Volunteer, and who is now a Program Officer at A.E.D (an international development firm) in Washington, DC. After they moved to the U.S., he continued to follow his passion of teaching by pursuing a Texas Teaching Certification. He completed his Texas teacher preparation coursework and certification at Texas Lutheran University with a Middle School Mathematics certificate. He worked as a classroom teacher in the Seguin,Texas Independent School District where he was nominated as teacher of the year in 2008. Mr. Bonabe is a native speaker of French (as well as several other languages) and he enjoys playing soccer, biking, and camping in his free time. He is now looking forward to going to graduate school and bringing his unconditional contribution to promoting excellence at SBCS.

Gena Proctor (Mrs. Proctor)
Gena Proctor (Mrs. Proctor) gleefully comes to SBCS via New Zealand and Australia. She graduated from Massey University College of Education, in New Zealand with a Bachelors of Teaching, majoring in both English and Visual Arts.
In 2002 she began with City Schools as a 7th grade English teacher at Mt. Royal Elementary Middle School. In the 6 years that followed she taught Visual Art, Social Studies, Drama and 6th, 7th and 8th grade Ingenuity Literature. Her additional responsibilities included Arts Coordinator, and Middle School Gifted and Talented Education Manager.
Mrs. Proctor is currently working on a Certificate in Arts Integration from Towson University. In her free time she loves to frolic with family and friends, travel internationally and talk to people about her ?fur baby? London.

Alicia Shaw (Ms. Shaw)
Alicia Shaw is a member of the awesome SBCS Middle Grades staff. She has taught in Baltimore CIty for 9 years. Reading, music, learning, and playing with her dog (Sadie) are her favorite activities. Having a great love for animals, Alicia spends many weekends and holidays working at Dogwood Pet Lodge, a dog boarding facility. Alicia holds a BA in Psychology from Millersville University in Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Towson University in MD, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Goucher College with a specialization in Special Education.

Mr. Jeremy is looking forward to an amazing year at SBCS, in his new role as the Middle School Fitness and Adventure Coordinator. Growing up in Vermont, he is passionate about the outdoors and looks forward to immersing his students in a variety of wilderness experiences. In addition, Jeremy will use sports and exercise as tools to build character and community among the student body. He graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Psychology in 2003 and completed his Master's in Leadership and Teaching in 2009 at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. His journey has taken him through several Baltimore City schools until finding a home at SBCS in 2009. In his spare time, Mr. Jeremy enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs.

Jaime Stone (Ms. Stone)
Jaime Stone comes to us from Expeditionary Learning Schools as a school designer to become part of SBCS this year as the Middle School Administrator. Jaime grew up in Maine and came to Maryand ten years ago. She has worked in public and private schools as well as the Job Corps program as a teacher, counselor and administrator. Jaime was a founding staff member of ConneXions Community Leadership Academy, a 6th-12th grade charter school in West Baltimore where she was a math teacher and program director. She is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University (M. Ed, Administration and Supervision) and University of Maine at Orono (Elementary Ed K-8). Jaime's favorite things to do are to spend time with her family (husband, Kevin and two daughters, Lillia and Maya) and to be on or near the water.

Mrs. Iffeisha Gordon-Toppin is a dedicated classroom teacher with a passion for Science and Technology Education. She is a native of St. Ann, Jamaica, where she graduated from the University of the West Indies, with a Degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Gordon-Toppin has been a member of the SBCS family for over four years now, during which time she has acquired her Maryland Teaching Certification and is in the process of completing a Masters Degree in Educational Technology. Mrs. Gordon-Toppin's favorite activities are not limited to but includes travelling, visiting relatives and friends, playing simulated games, gardening and working with computers.
