Middle: Welcome to the Middle Grades Page. Middle Grades students are grouped into two categories
• 5th Grade students are grouped in classrooms with the same teacher and classmates for their crew period and expedition work. Students see different teachers for Math, Literacy and Cultural Arts where they are mixed with students spanning the entire fifth grade. Students receive instruction in these content areas five days per week, except for Cultural Arts which they have four days per week.

• 6th Grade students start their day off with crew. They are assigned to gender based crews of 8 to 15 students monitored by one to two adults. For their academic classes students have a Math block, Literacy Block, Expedition Block and a Cultural Arts Block. Students see a different teacher for Math, Literacy and Cultural Arts where they are mixed with students spanning the entire sixth grade. Students receive instruction in these content areas five days per week, except for Cultural Arts which they have four days per week.

• 7th and 8th Grade students start their day off with crew. They are assigned to gender based crews of 8 to 15 students monitored by one to two adults. For their academic classes students have a Math block, Humanities class, a Literacy Block, a Science Block and a Cultural Arts Block. Students see a different teacher for Math, Humanities, Science and Cultural Arts where they are mixed by grade level with students spanning the entire 7 and 8th grade. Students receive instruction in these content areas five days per week, except for Cultural Arts which they have four days per week.
