On Saturday November 11th the SBCS BICO club spent a day learning how to get and stay warm. The outing began with a workshop and relays to learn about and build an outfit that consists of the 3 key layers needed to keep warm. Next, the club brainstormed other ways to get warm such as: to start moving, stand in the sun, and huddle with your group.

On Saturday October 13th the SBCS BICO club went hiking and bouldering at Rocks State Park. On this outing participants helped navigate a 2 mile hike around the park to a humongous rock out-cropping called the King and Queen’s seat.

SBCS has an outdoor club called BICO - Baltimore Inspiring Connecetions Outdoors. You may have heard about it, seen pics on the bulletin board outside the gym, or updates on the SBCS website/FB page. If you would like to know more about BICO and how to volunteer you can always speak with Coach Hunter.

On Saturday September 15th the SBCS BICO club went hiking and swimming at Gunpowder State Park. Since this was the first outing of the year a significant amount of time was devoted to basic hiking and safety skills such as learning what trail Blazes mean, understanding the importance of the Buddy System, and, what the roles of a Point person and Sweeper are on outings.
